Thu 5/1 6pm-10pm • Artist Talk & Vietnamese Vinyl Listening Party An evening of conversation and music with artist Linh My Truong and guest artist, filmmaker, and DJ Thanh Tan. The first part of the evening will feature a joint artist talk where both Linh and Thanh share their current work and explore the process and challenges of collecting oral histories. The second half will be a vinyl listening session featuring rare Vietnamese records from both artists’ personal collections. Many of these are rare pre-1975 records from Vietnam’s “Golden Music” era. This event is in conjunction with Threads of Passage: From Vietnam to America - An interactive exhibition honoring Vietnamese refugee stories and cultural memory by Linh My Truong, on view at Annex Gallery thru May 18.
